Antropologi

Keluarga Mahasiswa Antropologi (KEMANT) is an organization or Student Association under the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), UGM. This organization was officially established on September 30, 1964, with members of Anthropology students. As an organization, KEMANT certainly has several main objectives, namely:

    1. As a forum to channel and develop the potential of Cultural Anthropology students.
    2. Strengthening relationships between students of the Anthropology Department both internally and externally.
    3. Bridging the procedural affairs of student activities between KEMANT and the Department of Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

In carrying out its duties, KEMANT is divided into six divisions that work in their respective fields, but still coordinate and cooperate with each other. The six divisions include the Human Resources Development Division, Arts Division, Sports Division, Entrepreneurship Division, Media Communication Division, and External Division. Some explanations about these divisions include the following:

    1. Student Resource Development Division. As the name implies, this division seeks to hone the intellect of anthropology students in seeing a social phenomenon in the surrounding environment. One of the activities carried out is by holding discussions on several selected topics such as research results and related trending phenomena.
    2. Art Division. The activities of this division are of course not far from things that smell like art. This division seeks to embrace anthropology students who are interested in the arts. One of its products is the Wayang Antro performance. The art performance is routinely held once a year to coincide with the Dies Natalies of the Anthropology Department.
    3. Sports Division. It is a division that aims to channel the interests of its members in the field of sports such as futsal, basketball, badminton, swimming, and other sports. This division seeks to unite the cohesiveness of anthropology students from the field of sports.
    4. Entrepreneurship Division. This division is a forum for anthropology students who enjoy entrepreneurial activities. One of the main goals of this division is of course so that KEMANT can become a more independent organization.
    5. Communication Media Division. This division is engaged in publication and organizational communication. With the main task of sharing information related to the activities and work programs being carried out by KEMANT through several of its social media.
    6. External Division. The main task and purpose of this division is basically as a bridge to establish good relations with HMJs in the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, and on a wider scale with the Indonesian Anthropology Kinship Network (JKAI).
