At Glance

The UGM Anthropology Undergraduate Program provides education that focuses on studying human relationships in diverse social and cultural contexts, both in the Southeast Asian region and in other cultural contexts such as Europe, America, and other Asian regions. Through participatory learning, students will hone their sensitivity and ability to recognize the complexity of contemporary socio-cultural phenomena that are relevant to the latest global issues. Students are encouraged to formulate critical questions based on real challenges in society, be able to apply ethnographic methods and be able to understand and apply various cutting-edge anthropological concepts and produce comprehensive and coherent descriptive ethnographic work. The Bachelor of Anthropology program produces graduates who are capable of managing socio-cultural issues in a pluralistic society.

Tracer Study

The results of the Tracer Study of the Anthropology Undergraduate Program conducted in 2024 show that graduates have successfully entered the workforce in a variety of fields relevant to their educational qualifications. Most alumni work in private companies, which is the dominant sector in terms of graduate employment. However, there are also alumni who work in government agencies, non-profit organizations, state-owned enterprises/regional-owned enterprises, as well as those who choose entrepreneurship or independent professional activities. This reflects that graduates have broad career opportunities and are not limited to one type of institution.

Degree Requirement

Students are declared to have graduated from the Bachelor of Cultural Anthropology Study Program if they have fulfilled a minimum of 144 credits and a maximum of 160 credits (including community service and thesis) with a composition of
