Department of Geography, National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking to hire ONE interpreter proficient in Bahasa Indonesia on a contingent basis to assist in the team’s interview field research. Anthropology UGM students or alumni are welcome to apply.
The successful applicant must have verifiable proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia, and are preferably pursuing or holding a degree in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Interest in air transport, labour issues, automation and technology are pluses, but not essential.
Job Scope
The job scope and responsibilities of the interpreter are as follows:
- Assist in conducting up to 25 interviews (30 hours) among airport workers in Jakarta.
- Provide interpretation support to SSHR research team members.
- Willingness to travel to CGK airport is expected.
Terms and Conditions
Detailed terms and conditions of employment are as follows:
- The successful applicant will be hired under NUS’s Contingent Workforce Policy https://nusu.sharepoint.com/sites/corporate/policies/hr2/employment-terms/Contingent_Workforce_Policy.pdf.
- The successful applicant will be paid a flat rate of S$720.00.
- The appointment will not be eligible for extensions.
- No other benefits accrue.
