POWERE (Participation of Women in Renewable Energy) is an international collaboration addressing equity in the Global South’s transition to secure, affordable, and sustainable energy. By working with women-led groups in marginalized communities, the project aims to build inclusive social infrastructure for off-grid renewable energy installations. This three-year initiative will begin in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Supported by the UKRI Ayrton Challenge and involving researchers from the University of Sussex, the University of Indonesia, and Gadjah Mada University, POWERE collaborates with CARE Indonesia (Yayasan CARE Peduli) and Auroville Consulting, in close liaison with Aquatera, Development Finance International, and relevant government institutions, including the Directorate of Small Islands and Coastal Affairs under Indonesia’s Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, ensuring alignment with national and global Sustainable Development Goals.
At last, POWERE has launched its first newsletter that you can access through this website.
